Greens, and browns, and yellows, oh my! The fresh new fashions of Nicole Bridger came out full force this week at BC's exclusive fashion week. With an impressive resume that includes a partnership with Oqoqo and Lululemon founder Chip Wilson, and the Generation Next award for top new designer from BC Fashion Week organizers, Nicole Bridger certainly has a scent of success around her. Despite being a sophomore in the fashion designing world, Bridger already seems to be dedicated to proving that sustainable fashion can be comfortable and classic.
If there was only one word to describe Nicole's Fall 2008 collection, it would be fluidity. Each and every piece draped off the models in a way that made even the heavy winter clothes look seductive. The modern shapes and sophisticated colors makes this collection a great choice for anyone looking to impress this fall. Not only that, but each piece in her collection was marketable so you can wear it to virtually any occasion.
The high-waisted trouser pants were classic and flowing to allow for a professional yet stylish look. Keeping the color of these pants to a neutral black or gray allows for some color to be added other places in the outfit. The cardigans incorporated an deep v shape which is a perfect way to show some skin this fall without sacrificing body heat. Layering them with a colorful long sleeve shirt underneath (shown above in the first photo) is ideal for those particularly dreary days.
When it comes to the little black dress, a women can never go wrong with classic and simple shapes. In the fall however, pulling off an above the knee length can be pushing the limit of over-exposure. A perfect substitute would be the floor length dress (again, look up) that is elegant and practical for the fall months.
Finally, a heavy and warm throw over is a handy item to keep in your closet. It's versatile and simple and a great way to add a little flare to your winter wardrobe. Bridger accomplishes a modern and comfortable look with this colorful plaid throw over, without looking cheap or unconventional. By pairing it with a dark wash jean and riding boots, the outfit looks coordinated and contemporary.
Expect to see more of Nicole Bridger over the next few seasons. She is talented, hard-working and her garments bring a whole new flare to sustainable fashion
